The library is hosting an Iconic Central Photo Contest. We are looking for timeless CHS photos of the main campus, sports facilities, and events to be printed and hung in the CHS Library.  We are looking for mostly orange and blue or black and white images. This contest is open to all current CHS students. All submissions are due Friday, October 1st at 4:30 pm.  See the fliers around campus, an art teacher or the library for more information.

Through off-campus field trips and community service projects, you’ll explore your college and career options in realistic ways and build strong relationships with other girls who are motivated and committed to building a positive future. Whoever you want to be and whatever you want to do, SISTERS has a place for you! Any female student interested can pick up the form in the counseling center and return it to Mrs. Chapman in the counseling center at Main.

FCA continues to meet on Thursday during the second half of lunch in Carlyle 103. Our numbers grow each week! Keep stopping by and bringing your friends. This week Cody Fentress will share a quick encouraging message. See you there!

Students, don’t forget that your picture day for yearbook photos is coming soon!  Sophomores will take their photos tomorrow, and juniors will take theirs on Thursday, September 30.  You will take your photos through your English classes.  Teachers, please remember that all new teachers must take a photo, so please go by and have yours taken on one of these dates as well.

Seniors, if you have not taken your yearbook portrait yet, you must take your photo at the Photo Studio by October 30.  You do not have to purchase the photos but must take them at the studio to have your picture included in the yearbook.  Call 944-4406 to schedule an appointment if you need to do so.

Texas Tech University will be here on October 5th. Seniors and juniors come see Mrs. Chapman in the counseling center for a pass.

17 and 10 months? Ready to have your voice heard in your state and nation? Make sure to register to vote with any government and economics teacher in Holmes Hall before October 4th.

Attention seniors: Goldbeck Company will be here tomorrow at 12:15 PM for the 2022 senior panoramic.  They will return on Wednesday, September 29th during lunch for purchase and pickup of the senior class picture.  Packages include a large laminated panoramic for $30.00 or one medium and one large laminated panoramic for $35.00. For $45 you will receive a large laminated panoramic, one medium panoramic, and one medium ’22 formation picture. Goldbeck accepts cash, check, or money orders. Please include a phone number on all checks and make them payable to Goldbeck Company.

Alta Loma Elementary Students Celebrate National Literacy Month with H-E-B Book Giveaway

San Angelo ISD continued our month-long celebration of National Literacy Month today with a fun book giveaway by H-E-B at Alta Loma Elementary. Thanks to H-E-B, each Alta Loma pre-kindergartener, kindergartener, 1st grader and 2nd grader received their very own book to take home as a gift, and students were treated to a special visit by H-E-Buddy to inspire a love of reading.

San Angelo ISD Bilingual Program Develops Students Dual Language Literacy Skills

To continue our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, this week San Angelo ISD proudly provides a glimpse into our impactful Bilingual Program by featuring some of the engaging work in these special classrooms - Orgullo bilingue en SAISD! Our Bilingual Program is designed to provide Spanish-speaking students the opportunity to be English Proficient by the 3rd grade. The program builds knowledge and learning of academic subjects in a child's first language and English while instilling self-assurance, confidence and cultural pride.
