Do you have a special talent? Do you like to perform, sing, play, act, dance, or tell jokes? Help us show everyone that “Central’s Got Talent!”

Due to extremely high interest, we are adding one final day of auditions – TODAY, January 27! Auditions are open to any student in grades 9-12. You must sign-up online to reserve an audition spot. Visit our website, www.centralhighchoir.org, to read the rules and find the sign-up link.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet TODAY in Carlyle 103 during the second half of lunch. This quarter we will be studying how to pursue a Godly team by surrounding yourself with Godly people! Come join us as Alexi Martinez shares with us some scripture and a quick encouraging message. Worried you’ll be short on time? Bring your lunch! Don’t let time keep you from coming! See you there!

Guess who is back again?  The Sip ‘Em Cats coffee trailer is back in business.  Come grab a cold or hot coffee during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the 1st part of lunch.  Our opening day will be Tuesday, February 8th behind Banneker at the Sip ‘Em Cats Trailer.

Central Students, we are beginning the process of nominating for favorites in your English classes.  Remember seniors will nominate seniors, juniors will nominate juniors, sophomores will nominate sophomores, and freshman will nominate freshmen.  If you do not have an English class, go by Ms. Folks’ room Schweitzer 106 to vote.  The Favorites Ceremony will be held Monday February 28th

These same four girls were also named to the Cross-Country Coaches Association of Texas Academic All-State cross-country team.

Also, congratulations to Andres Ybarra who was named to the Cross-Country Coaches Association of Texas Academic All-State Cross-Country team.

Congratulations to the Central Cheerleaders on winning the NCA Gameday NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP this weekend. This win marks Central Cheer's 6th National Title and 3rd in the past 4 years. The team’s score of a 98.75 was also the highest score of the ENTIRE competition, earning them the Grand National Champion title. Congrats and Sic Em!

The Lady Cat Varsity Soccer team defeated Waco Midway on Friday night 3-0. Alyssa Villareal and Carley Martinez each had a goal and an assist in the game. Lexi Templin also scored off an Abi Kalnbach assist. Addie Harkleroad was in goal for the shut-out. The JV girls won their game 1-0 against Midway, and on Saturday at the Odessa JV tournament they tore through Permian 6-0 and Midland High 4-0. The girls will start District play Tuesday against a tough Frenship team at home. The Varsity game will be at Old Bobcat Stadium at 5:30pm and the JV girls will play at San Angelo Stadium at 7:30pm. Good luck ladies and Sic ’Em Cats!

5 SAISD Students Named All-State Musicians by Texas Music Educators Association

San Angelo ISD proudly celebrates five students from Central High School and Lake View High School who reached the highest level a high school musician can achieve through the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) by earning the distinguished honor of TMEA All-State in band, orchestra, and choir.

Congratulations to: 

  • Heidi Bundick, LVHS sophomore, All-State Band, string bass,
  • Gregory Faught, CHS junior, All-State Orchestra, double bass,
  • Elijah Jackson, CHS senior, All-State Mixed Choir, 1st chair tenor 1,
  • Lauren Ochoa, CHS junior, All-State Band, clarinet, and
  • Jon Dirk Ross, CHS senior, All-State Tenor-Bass Choir, 4th chair bass 1.

To be selected for the All-State honor, CHS and LVHS students joined over 70,000 high school musicians from across the state to audition before a panel of judges in 33 TMEA Regions.

The JV side tied a hard-fought game 0-0. The girls will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Odessa to take on OHS. Well done ladies and Sic ’Em Cats!
