Bobcats Assemble. Central Superheroes, join us tonight at 6 pm at the stadium for our Parade followed by the community pep rally. We finish up Homecoming tomorrow night with the big game. Let’s make it Super Central.

FCA will meet today during the second half of lunch in Carlyle 103. FCA is a Christian organization that meets weekly to engage in fun and fellowship through God’s Word. This week Bryson McNutt will share an encouraging message. Bring a friend and we will see you there!

It’s homecoming week Bobcats!!  Football tickets are now on sale in the student service center.  Get your tickets this week and come out and support the Bobcats as they take on the Frenship Tigers. Only student tickets will be available for $4, cash or check only – No adult tickets will be sold on campus. Sic Em Cats!

The library is hosting an Iconic Central Photo Contest. We are looking for timeless CHS photos of the main campus, sports facilities, and events to be printed and hung in the CHS Library.  We are looking for mostly orange and blue or black and white images. This contest is open to all current CHS students. All submissions are due Friday, October 1st at 4:30 pm.  See the fliers around campus, an art teacher or the library for more information.

Bobcats, it's the LAST WEEK to complete and submit the Math Problem of the Month! You can still grab a copy from the bulletin board in Newton, and turn in solutions to Mrs. Wilde in Newton 111 by TOMORROW for your chance to win a prize.

Bobcats Assemble! Happy Homecoming Week CHS students! As we all enjoy the building decorations and dress up days, the English Department in Carlyle would like to challenge you! Throughout Carlyle, Stan Lee is making a cameo appearance… if you find all of them and tell your English teacher the correct number, you win a prize! Join us in the fight to beat the Tigers!

Attention seniors: Goldbeck Company will be here on Tuesday, September 28th at 12:15 PM for the 2022 senior panoramic.  They will return on Wednesday, September 29th during lunch for purchase and pickup of the senior class picture.  Packages include a large laminated panoramic for $30.00 or one medium and one large laminated panoramic for $35.00. For $45 you will receive a large laminated panoramic, one medium panoramic, and one medium ’22 formation picture. Goldbeck accepts cash, check, or money orders. Please include a phone number on all checks and make them payable to Goldbeck Company.

Bobcats Assemble, it’s a Superhero Homecoming, Central and we are on the lookout for Dynamic Duos.  Tomorrow we salute everyday heroes. So we encourage you to dress-up as your favorite everyday hero.  Plan on joining us Thursday at 6 pm for our parade and community pep rally at the stadium where we will crown our King and Queen.  Friday is spirit day and we will be wearing our Homecoming t-shirts which will be just $10 and we will start to sell on Tuesday.  We will end the week with the big game Friday night where we will take on the Frenship Tigers. Let’s have a great Homecoming Central.

FCA will be hosting the annual “See you at the Pole” prayer rally this Wednesday at 7:15 am. We will meet around the Central High School main campus at the flagpole in front of the gym for breakfast, worship and prayer time. See you at the Pole is a world-wide event where students gather to pray for the world, their country, their cities and their schools. If you have any questions just ask an FCA officer or member, or check out the flyers posted around campus! Come be a part of an awesome event that unites us as followers of Jesus Christ!

17 and 10 months? Ready to have your voice heard in your state and nation? Make sure to register to vote with any government and economics teacher in Holmes Hall before October 4th.

The Bobcat and Lady Cat Golf Teams competed at the Red Raider Classic in Lubbock over the weekend.

The Bobcats finished in 4th Place, only 1 stroke out of 3rd Place!!!  The Bobcats were led by Soph. Colin Leonard who shot 72-70 to finish in 2nd Place individually.  Fr. Brooks Vaughan shot 72-75 and Jr. Miguel Flores-Acton shot 73-75 to finish T6 and T9 respectively.  Other Bobcat golfer who contributed to the team were Fr. Mason Kalnbach and Soph. Tyler Shukis.

The Lady Cats finished in 5th Place.  The Lady Cats were led by Sr. Emily Coronado who shot an 80 and then a personal best 68 to win the Individual Championship!  Other Lady Cat golfers included Jr. Olivia Cooper (who shot a personal best 84), Jr. Abbigail Wetz (who shot a personal best 93), Jr. Micaela Falcon (who shot a consistent 99 both rounds), and Jr. Franchesca Untalan (who shot a personal best 104).

Way to go Bobcat and Lady Cat Golfers!!!

Alta Loma Elementary Students Celebrate National Literacy Month with H-E-B Book Giveaway

San Angelo ISD continued our month-long celebration of National Literacy Month today with a fun book giveaway by H-E-B at Alta Loma Elementary. Thanks to H-E-B, each Alta Loma pre-kindergartener, kindergartener, 1st grader and 2nd grader received their very own book to take home as a gift, and students were treated to a special visit by H-E-Buddy to inspire a love of reading.

San Angelo ISD Bilingual Program Develops Students Dual Language Literacy Skills

To continue our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, this week San Angelo ISD proudly provides a glimpse into our impactful Bilingual Program by featuring some of the engaging work in these special classrooms - Orgullo bilingue en SAISD! Our Bilingual Program is designed to provide Spanish-speaking students the opportunity to be English Proficient by the 3rd grade. The program builds knowledge and learning of academic subjects in a child's first language and English while instilling self-assurance, confidence and cultural pride. 
 

DESK Recognition 9-20-21

San Angelo ISD and SAISD Board of Trustees recognized the D.E.S.K non-profit organization at Monday’s Board Meeting in appreciation of nearly two decades supporting San Angelo ISD students and families in need of school supplies. D.E.S.K, which stands for Donate Educational Supplies to Kids, presented SAISD schools with funds for the 2021-2022 school year in the amount of $71,260.71 in August. The funds were allocated out to each SAISD campus based on need for school supply purchase last month.
